Stan Freeman
President and Founder
Stan is a 25-year veteran of Silicon Valley where he held a variety of executive positions in both large and small high-tech companies. In the last 15 years of his career in high tech, he focused on making strategic alliances work in the context of delivering business process solutions for large, global enterprises.
In May of 2005, Stan and 2 others founded Nationwide Exchange Services. Stan held the position of Executive Vice President of Business Development and introduced many of the concepts and programs that contributed to NES’ rapid growth. In late 2006, Stan left NES to start ExStra after deciding that the market for reverse exchanges needed a dedicated firm committed to a new level of excellence.
Stephen Rogers
Senior Vice President and General Counsel
Stephen is a licensed attorney and holds the Master of Laws in Taxation. In addition to the Juris Doctor, he holds an MA in Public Policy, an MBA and is a Certified Exchange Specialist. He is admitted to practice law in Arizona and in seven Federal Courts including the US Tax Court and the Supreme Court. He began his 1031 exchange career at Fidelity National Title Insurance Company in 2000. After three years in the corporate legal department in California, he relocated to Arizona to work in the Reverse and Improvement Division for Fidelity’s 1031 subsidiary. Shortly after moving to Arizona, Stephen was recruited by LandAmerica to resurrect their Arizona exchange office as Assistant Reverse Exchange Counsel. While Stephen was in charge, the Arizona office grew to one of the largest in the nation for LandAmerica. That growth was noticed by Bayview 1031, who asked Stephen to open a Western Regional processing center as Exchange Counsel. He was in charge of all Western regional exchange activity including all Reverse, Improvement, Personal Property, Aircraft and Forward Real Estate Exchanges. Stephen has been personally involved in the processing of over 5,000 exchanges.
