Stan founded Exchange Strategies in 2006. The business plan was based on the idea that reverse exchanges provided a better or more optimized approach to 1031 exchanges for a much larger segment of the Exchanger community than previously thought.In 2005, Stan and 2 others founded an independent QI that quickly grew to be among the largest in its category. Stan held the position of Executive Vice President of Business Development and introduced many of the concepts and programs that contributed to that rapid growth.
Michael Eloranto, Esq. – Senior Exchange Officer
Mike has been a specialist in complex exchange structures for many years. Most recently, he was Senior Exchange Counsel and General Counsel at 1031 Exchange Experts in Colorado.
In addition, Mike has served as a 1031 exchange consultant to numerous investors, lending institutions and title companies. He has taught educational seminars and CLE programs throughout the country and has been an expert witness in litigation involving 1031 exchanges.
John (J.M.) Ramey III, Esq. – Senior Exchange Officer
For the past 15 years, J.M. has represented both taxpayers and qualified intermediaries in a wide variety of matters related to tax deferred exchanges. J.M was formerly a shareholder at Hirschler Fleischer in Richmond, Virginia where he shared responsibility for the firm’s real estate securities practice.
J.M. also has broad experience in numerous related areas, including partnerships, corporate and real estate taxation, entity formation/restructuring, private securities and capital formation, and succession and estate planning.
David Shechtman, Esq., J.D., LL.M, Drinker Biddle Wreath – Outside Counsel
David is currently Chair of the Business Tax Team in the Corporate & Securities Practice Group at Drinker Biddle Reath. His practice includes structuring of like-kind exchange transactions for major oil and gas, telecommunications and railroad companies, as well as REITs and smaller real estate owners. David is the Immediate Past Chair, ABA Tax Section Committee on Sales, Exchanges and Basis.
